Prolific - a fantastic research website with interesting studies. Read on to find out more!

Prolific

One of the best and most interesting sites I have discovered is Prolific and if you aren’t already a member I urge you to join! The assignments are really interesting, the minimum payout is £5 to either Paypal or Circle (sign up to circle and send £25 in the first two weeks and earn £5!).

With Prolific you also have the option to fund raise or donate your credits to charity which I find absolutely fantastic.

So, how do you get started? Here's a simple and quick run down on how to get started with Prolific

1.) Sign up – visit the Prolific Website by clicking HERE and create an account. It’s really important to sign up as a PARTICIPANT and not a researcher, as you want to take part in the studies offered (unless of course you are a researcher). You need to sign up and verify your account, follow the steps to do this as they are quite straight forward – if not please do comment below, or get in touch.

2.) Prescreening - you must complete all the prescreening questions, in order to be offered relevant studies otherwise they won’t know what to send you. Often there are extra prescreening questions, make sure these are always up to date. You can of course leave questions out if you wish but you will not get relevant studies in that area sent to you, and you can of course always opt out.

You can find the prescreening questions under the account section, once you click on it you will find lots of questions to answer and it takes about 15 minutes, it’s worth it though!

3.) You are all set up! Simple, right? Now it’s time to have a look for some studies! Check back to the ‘studies’ tab and see if you are eligible for any. The great thing about Prolific as a whole is that you are only offered studies you qualify for as a general rule of thumb, so always make sure you have completed the prescreening questions.

It might be worth doing a demo study if it's available to you as a practice run.

4.) What next?

Keep checking in for studies. Prolific very RARELY sends you an email. It’s up to you to keep checking in.

TOP TIP!

I work from home, when I’m at home I regularly have the laptop or desktop on in the background. I’ve downloaded a handy little assistant for Prolific aptly called Prolific Assistant which can be downloaded onto chrome. Make sure once it’s downloaded it’s attached to your Prolific account by logging in, and highlight the ‘announce’ button. It will scan through every few seconds (you can select how many seconds by clicking on ‘check interval’ tab and adjusting to your requirement) . It will then notify you when a study is available. It isn't completely fool proof but it's certainly helps! There is also another extension called Distill which is similar. I find Prolific Assistant fabulous though and highly recommend it.

If you do not have this option it's just a question of checking into the site as and when you remember. Why not set up a reminder on your phone? If you don’t want to download prolific assistant onto chrome, or you cannot for some reason then it’s just a question of keeping checking into the site as studies can fill up fast.

Enjoy and good luck!

Prolific is a fantastic site and I highly recommend it.

SMA Pro 6+months Follow-on Milk trial with TheInsidersIreland

Whilst most of my blog posts are on ways to make an extra income without the extra effort, I’ve recently been taking part in a few product trials at home which I have thoroughly enjoyed. One of which is my first product trial with a fantastic company called TheInsiders , a word of mouth review platform. I have four children, I have breastfed them all but normally make a switch to formula when they are older (mainly as I find I no longer have the time to express any longer). My youngest has been exclusively breastfed from birth,  and now at ten months still she refuses bottles and pacifiers, so when the opportunity came up to review SMA Pro 6+Months follow on milk  with TheInsiders, I immediately applied and was accepted. The trial takes place over a 6 week period so you can get a really good feel for the product and have plenty of time to talk to others about your experience of SMA Pro Follow-on Milk. Not long after being notified that I’d been accepted for the campa...

My experience of Laser Eye Surgery - Optimax Belfast review.

I have been very pleased at how my post on our experience of plagiocephaly and helmet treatment has been received, and hope that it will help some parents to have an honest mother’s opinion of the treatment and help them to make the decision on whether to go down that route for their child. In thinking along this theme and jotting down ideas for blog posts, I thought I would write my experience on something that after many years of thinking about I finally was brave enough to take the plunge this year. It also helps that at this stage in my pregnancy I can now only sleep for around 4 hours a night (hello insomnia) and at least I have the peace to write a review in the early hours of the morning before little mister wakes up. In April 2014 I had laser eye surgery, and I really have to admit, it is one of the best things I have ever done in my life and I am so pleased with the results. Since the age of seven I needed to wear glasses – I had terrible eyesight. I remember at the time ...
