Comping - what is it? If you like competitions, you will love this!

Several years ago, bored and on maternity leave playing the waiting game, I read an article about comping. A lady was making £10,000 a month just entering competitions. Absurd, I thought.

Actually.....

I thought I'd give it a go, in the few short weeks I had before the bedlam of those first few hazy, manic, sleep deprived newborn moments. In those weeks I won £250, some books, some holiday goodies, perfume, cream, a vinyl record, some vouchers and lots of other bits and bobs. It was a far cry off £10,000 but it was something and it helped pass the time and took my mind off the waiting.

If you are interested in comping, here's a few tips (only based on what I do). This is just a quick and easy post to get you started:

Loquax.co.uk

This site is fabulous! Sign up, I normally pick the tab that says 'closing competitions.' To have a good chance they say entering about 30 competitions a day you will win a few things a week (tried and tested, it works). Obviously this can be a little time consuming so I haven't comped myself in a few months. If you can set aside 15-30 minutes per day or whilst doing other things, pick a date and try entering all of the competitions from that date.

Social Media

Do you have a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account? Try searching for # which words associated with competitions and see what comes up. Some examples are #win #competition #free #entercompetition . Enter a few of these.

Best advice is to set up a quick and easy seperate email address, you will be spammed. Use this to enter your competitions and voila! I'm going to really try hard to give it a go this month again and I'll publish my results at the end of November. Some people do set up extra social media accounts however do be careful doing this, and check each websites terms and conditions prior to doing so. I normally select those which don't ask me to share the posts now, although at the time I shared a lot to my personal profile (much to the dismay of my friends I'm sure).

If you try this out, let us know how you get on by posting in the comment section below.

Good luck comping!

SMA Pro 6+months Follow-on Milk trial with TheInsidersIreland

Whilst most of my blog posts are on ways to make an extra income without the extra effort, I’ve recently been taking part in a few product trials at home which I have thoroughly enjoyed. One of which is my first product trial with a fantastic company called TheInsiders , a word of mouth review platform. I have four children, I have breastfed them all but normally make a switch to formula when they are older (mainly as I find I no longer have the time to express any longer). My youngest has been exclusively breastfed from birth,  and now at ten months still she refuses bottles and pacifiers, so when the opportunity came up to review SMA Pro 6+Months follow on milk  with TheInsiders, I immediately applied and was accepted. The trial takes place over a 6 week period so you can get a really good feel for the product and have plenty of time to talk to others about your experience of SMA Pro Follow-on Milk. Not long after being notified that I’d been accepted for the campa...

My experience of Laser Eye Surgery - Optimax Belfast review.

I have been very pleased at how my post on our experience of plagiocephaly and helmet treatment has been received, and hope that it will help some parents to have an honest mother’s opinion of the treatment and help them to make the decision on whether to go down that route for their child. In thinking along this theme and jotting down ideas for blog posts, I thought I would write my experience on something that after many years of thinking about I finally was brave enough to take the plunge this year. It also helps that at this stage in my pregnancy I can now only sleep for around 4 hours a night (hello insomnia) and at least I have the peace to write a review in the early hours of the morning before little mister wakes up. In April 2014 I had laser eye surgery, and I really have to admit, it is one of the best things I have ever done in my life and I am so pleased with the results. Since the age of seven I needed to wear glasses – I had terrible eyesight. I remember at the time ...
